KVR was born out of a frustration most founders never see but always feel the consequences of.
One of our co-founders spent six years working remotely for top-tier agencies in the United States, embedded in fast-moving teams building digital strategies for some of the most recognisable B2B brands in the market. He was good at what he did. But what he noticed, sitting thousands of miles away in Nairobi, was that the offshore hiring model that powered so much of the industry was deeply broken.
Agencies were hiring offshore talent to cut costs, but the candidates coming through were inconsistent at best. He watched talented people get passed over because no one understood how to find them, and he watched underqualified hires damage client relationships because no one knew how to vet them properly. Over time, his managers started coming to him directly, asking him to identify and refer candidates from Kenya and across Africa. He said yes, and got it right every time.
That informal role grew into something more deliberate. He began working alongside HR firms in Kenya, embedding himself in their sourcing process, sitting in on interviews, and designing his own vetting framework based on six years of knowing exactly what a high-performing remote digital marketer looks like in practice and not just on paper. The candidates he put forward did not just fill seats. They delivered.
Meanwhile, the same pattern kept repeating on the client side: founders hiring mediocre freelancers, wasting budget on agencies that could not explain their own results, and burning runway on offshore hires that looked good on paper and underperformed in practice.
KVR was the answer. A practitioner-led agency that helps startups hire elite offshore digital marketing talent with confidence — and runs campaigns itself for those who need results before they are ready to hire.
Today we work with B2B startups scaling from $500K to $5M ARR. We know what great digital marketing looks like from the inside. And that is exactly why our hiring service works.
